City Strolls New Website users feedback and participation

Informed by communities' needs, City Strolls will be developing a new, custom-built wedsite, upgraded to be fully interactive and multi-user accessible. This will allow different users within the community to access and create content to various renewed sections of the site. The site will also include public discussion forums and reach for wider participation through RSS feeds and the various functions the new system will facilitate.

This will be done by building a contents management-based website with greater functionality that will help workflow by allowing the site to be accessed to varying degrees by members and the general public. These changes will also help to expand the site's geographical reach and better register the information users would find useful, so feeding more directly back into the community.

The new site and B-R-I-D-G-E project [PDF]

City Strolls supports groups working in areas of asylum, housing networks, poverty action; it helps to facilitate access to open-source computer technology & the web as a tool to bring people together; aids the development of community journalism & photography; and encourages cycling & walking in the city. It encourages links between the numerous concerns of the community and what can be enjoyed through participation in these associated activities. The idea is to highlight connecting points and ways to un-stigmatise difference, to create community interaction in the Common Good.

If you are a developer, a content supplier, an excited soul who sees so much potential in the life of our community, or like to play with computers. (or learn to) There's something for you here.
