politics, wars, markets, newspapers, schools, the mayor and councils, banks, tariffs,

"The idea is that this is a newspaper for everyone. The papers are full of so much celebrity-garbage, the tabloids are soft porn and the 'compacts' or whatever you call them are full of bland life-style culture restaurant reviews and regurgitation of corporate press releases.

INC is like Metro with balls. It's being distributed round the country but we're always looking for new venues to take a bundle so you can email us at: inc@imcscotland.org if you want some, or want to get involved.

We're also looking for editors, writers, photographers and supporters. Get in touch.

Created with the Open Source Scribus desktop publishing systems it has features on the Unity campaign in Glasgow, and the Housing Matters campaign in Edinburgh. There are also updates on the G8 trials, an account on the mass movement that swept France, the Pensioners struggle, how the new Tetra mobile phone masts are frying your brains, more on Glasgow Diggers and the return of Critical Mass in Aberdeen.

It's the first time for years that Scotland has had a really open newspaper not associated with any political party. The newspaper is an offshoot of Indymedia Scotland, itself apart of an international alternative media network with hundreds of linked web sites.

The Indymedia Scotland web site operates on a system of 'open publishing' i.e. anyone can upload a written report, image or audio clip directly to the site through an openly accessible web interface, given the guidelines detailed. Indymedia Scotland encourages: Grassroots coverage of important social and political issues, especially those ignored by mainstream media. A focus on events and issues relevant to people living in Scotland. Announcements of any forthcoming actions or campaigns (in the Calendar section). Comments added to any news report on the site.
